So Irish! Another great lesson! One if these days I gotta try it…I’m not that much into Irish music, but you sure do make it sound like tons of fun…gonna have to learn it! Thanks, John! Maybe this one will become my gateway to Irish!
The grace notes are compliments of John Sheahan. I love his cameo with Andre Rieu. My favorite part is at 0:22, when Rieu tries to come back into the A part after only one B part by Sheahan. Typical jam move! 🙂
Some of my earliest musical memories included Irish Washerwoman but with a variety of incorrect titles. I recall requesting it at dances and other musical events back in the days that most neighborhoods had a group or two providing local folks with dance music.
Seems like even the folks rich enough to own a Victrola record machine often included this song in their record stack. I just attempted it and got a couple notes in almost proper order so will add this to my practice. Thank you so much for enabling me to finally learn it or at least attempt to.
Greatly appreciate your work on Irish Washerwoman and have attempted it in my practices lately . It was a popular song long before my time and still pops up when older folks gather to jam a bit. I’m enjoying it and have included it in my daily practice. You’ve done an incredible amount of work providing these lessons and your method of teaching is very friendly and pleasant. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
