I really like how you put the sheet music on the bottom half with a close-up of the violin when you go through the song. The new studio and camera are nice, too, totally pro!

Thanks! It was a leap of faith to upgrade my camera and software, but I’m praying that the online lessons will help cover the expense.

    John,
Great compilation for Fly Around, SuzannaGal, Western Country.
I have one question regarding the 4th quarter in the B section.
    The tab shows E3, E3, E1, E0, A2, A3, A4 and A3
Yet when I listen to the video and watch your fingering It seems like there is no A4? Or maybe the A4 is played the first time thru and not the second?

Also please confirm this last quarter is straight note bowing with out any slurs?

    And great format overall!

Hi Rob! You’re right – on the video I am playing D0 instead of A4 on that last line! Although A4 sounds great there, I’ll go in and fix the tab to match the lesson. There is no need for slurring on that line, though I often slur the last two notes.

    John,

In addition to Rob’s questions and comments, I’d like to ask if you could put bowing directions (down-up, and marking slurs) in the tabs/notation.

I might be wrong, but I think there are a couple points in the lesson where you say something like the next two measure are just like two previous measures, but the bowing seems different. I know there is no one right way to bow, but I think if you put the bowing directions (one way that works) in the tabs, you’d force yourself to be more consistent. Or, is it that when it doesn’t matter, you don’t want us worrying about the bowing? Tom

Hi Tom, I’ve included some preferred slurs / bowing in the tablature. Hope it helps! John
